How to Sprout Horse gram

Horse gram(Kulthi bean/Hurali/Madras gram) is a reddish-brown, small disk-shaped lentil that is commonly used in south India. As the name says, horse gram is normally used to feed horses, though it is also commonly used for cooking too.
Horse gram is the best source of protein that you can include in your diet. Other than protein, it is loaded with dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals and is low in calories, which makes it an amazing food for everyone, especially for the ones who are watching their weight. Horse gram is not that much popular but it is nutritiously dense especially in its sprouted form.
Sprouted grains and legumes are claimed to be higher in nutrients and more easily digestible than unsprouted varieties. Sprouted horse gram may be available in the market where you live. But it is very easy to make at home.
Sprouting is a process that involves rinsing, soaking, and draining grains for prolonged periods. Usually making sprouts takes complete two days or even more depending on the variety of beans. Soaking time is normally eight to ten hours. A simple method of tie-ing in a damp cloth/muslin cloth and placing in a warm place for a day or two depending on the length of sprouts required, is the easiest and simple way of sprouting.
