Gongura Pachadi is unique to Andhra cuisine and is a must-have for any meal that gives a taste of Andhra. Pachadi refers to a traditional South Indian raita, made with red sorrel leaves and green chilis and is served as a side dish.

Gongura Chutney | ಗೊಂಗುರ ಚಟ್ನಿ | Andhra Special Gongura Pachadi | Pundi Chutney
Gongura Pachadi is unique to Andhra cuisine and is a must-have for any meal that gives a taste of Andhra. Pachadi refers to a traditional South Indian raita, made with red sorrel leaves and green chilis and is served as a side dish.

Ingredients
- 3 cups Gongura Leaves
- 3-4 Green Chili
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
- 2 tsp Oil
- ¼ tsp Mustard Seeds
- ½ tsp Jeera / Cumin
- 4 Garlic Cloves (crushed)
- Few Curry leaves
- 2 Dry Red Chili
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- Salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Dry Roast Sesame seeds, coarse grind & set aside.
- In a pan add little water, green chilis, and gongura leaves. Boil until the leaves change color.
- Once cooled grind the boiled mixture to a smooth paste & set aside.
- In the same pan add oil, mustard, jeera, dry red chili, curry leaves, crushed garlic and fry well. Once garlic is roasted well add in prepared gongura paste. Add little water if desired.
- In a low Flame, add turmeric, salt and boil until paste gets slightly thicker. Last, add the sesame powder and cook for a min.
- Serve as side dish with boiled rice & ghee or goes well with dosa, idly, adai, pesarattu.
- Gongura Pachadi/Chutney is Ready to Relish!!

Notes
- You could add more sesame powder for extra taste.
- Add more or less green chili according to spice level required.
