Ingredients

To Grind

  • 1 cup Fresh Shredded Coconut
  • ½ inch Ginger
  • 4-5 Cashew
  • 2 Green Chili
  • a small piece Tamarind
  • ½ cup Coriander Leaves
  • 2 tsp Roasted Channa Dal (Dalia)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Water (as required)

For Seasoning

  • 1 tsp Oil
  • ½ tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tsp Urad Dal
  • ¼ tsp Asafoetida / Hing
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 1 Broken Red Chili

Instructions

  • Blend all the ingredients well to a smooth consistency. Add water again and blend if needed. Adjust salt as per taste.
  • To season, heat a tsp oil in a pan, add mustard seeds once it crackles add urad dal, saute until golden, add hing, curry leaves, and red chili. Pour this over chutney and mix well.
  • Serve with Idli, dosa, vada or several other breakfasts.
