MUSHROOM BIRYANI

Mushroom Curry | ಅಣಬೆ ಸಾರು | Easy Sambar without dal

Ingredients

  • ½ Onion (chopped)
  • 8-10 Mushrooms (quartered)
  • ½ cup Coconut Milk
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 cup Water

For Grinding Masala :

  • 1 Tomato (roughly chopped)
  • ½ onion (roughly chopped)
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • ½ tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander /Dhania Powder

Instructions

  • Rinse mushroom thoroughly, pat dry and cut in quarters.
  • Blend tomato, onion, ginger, garlic, chili powder and dhania powder to a fine paste.
  • In a Kadai, add oil and fry onions until translucent.
  • Next, add in ground masala, sauté for a while before adding water.
  • Add water as per consistency required, salt to taste. When begins to boil add mushrooms and cook for 2-3 mins.
  • Lastly, turn the heat down to low, add coconut milk and do not boil. Stir the dish constantly while it is cooking to avoid curdling for about a min.
  • Simple and tasty Mushroom Curry is ready to be served with steamed rice !!
